MARIE-ANDRÉE LEBLOND

Born in June 1978 in St.Jean-sur-Richelieu, Marie-Andrée Leblond got interested in drawing as at the very young age of twelve and learned oil painting on her own at the age of fourteen.

Upon receiving her diploma in visual arts from the CEGEP du Vieux-Montréal she continued studying illustration at the Collège Salette.

Winning a series of prizes at different municipal exhibitions helped her gain notice by art galleries. Her ‘’Prix du Public’’ at Brossard’s ‘’Printemps Art-Visuel’’ in 1999 got the attention of the Clarence Gagnon Gallery. She, thus, made her definite move to the art market at the age of nineteen.

Recognizing her good fortune and with a lot of ambition she is continually honing her trade.

She works mainly with acrylics accentuated with watercolor inks, a technique which she has adopted for the richness of the colors.
